The main battle tank of the Japanese armed forces is equipped with a fire control system that provides automatic target tracking and the ability to engage targets at any time of day. The main armament of the tank is a licensed 120 mm Rheinmetall smoothbore gun with a barrel length of 44 caliber and equipped with an automatic loader. The cannon is additionally equipped with a powder gas ejector, a thermal shroud and is stabilized in two planes.
