The prototype of the American multirole fighter of the fifth generation was developed taking into account the requirements of the U.S. Air Force for increased combat survivability, stealth, and the ability to fly at supersonic speed without using afterburner. The aircraft's engines lack a controllable thrust vector, which reduces its maneuverability characteristics, but it also reduces the weight of the structure and achieves a greater reduction in the aircraft's IR signature.
